When you choose
hardwood from any hardwood store, you’ll have certain options. For instance, you can choose the perfect species for your lifestyle. Solid oak is perfect for a busy home, as it is one of the hardest woods available in flooring.
Once you choose a great species, you can move on to the perfect stain color. With prefinished materials, you have limited color choices. Site finished materials, on the other hand, offer extensive stain color options for the perfect décor match.
Sealants are very important and can have a huge bearing on the lifespan of your flooring. Talk with one of our associates about the different options, including oil-based sealants, hard wax options, and more.
Finishes are just as important and can include wire-brushed, vintage, distressed, or hand-scraped options. In addition to personalizing your floors appearance, they can work to hide signs of everyday wear for a better-looking floor over time.
Hardwood floors must be acclimated before installation. The time frame for this process can take one to three days, depending on the humidity in your home and area. These floors can only be installed in above-ground locations, which means we cannot recommend basement installations.
For areas where solid hardwood is not a good fit, be sure to consider an alternate wood flooring such as engineered hardwood or luxury vinyl wood-look flooring.
